Obituary: Alice C. Kettelle, 81

Alice C. Kettelle, 81, passed away Dec. 18. She was the wife of the late Clifford “Ben” Kettelle. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late George H. and Mary E. (Quinn) Bristol. 

Alice was employed at Kent Hospital for many years before she retired in December 1997. She was the first female president of her high school and of the Honor society. She was co-captain of the gymnastics team. Alice enjoyed spending much of her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Church. She donated to many charities and seemed happiest when helping people in need. 

She is survived by five children; James R., Samuel B., Joseph B., Elizabeth M., and Christine A. Kettelle, eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and was the beloved companion of Ernie Anderson. She was the mother of the late Rebecca Dellinger and sister of the late Rosemary Barney, George and Thomas Bristol. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. Calling hours are Sunday 4 and 6 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, P.O.
