Obituary: Alice M. (Hemingway) Jones, 95

Alice M. (Hemingway) Jones, 95, of East Greenwich, formerly of New Hampshire, died Thursday, March 24, 2016. She was the wife of the late Clarence W. Jones. Born in Rumford, ME, she was a daughter of the late Hiram C. & Bertha (Abbott) Hemingway.

Mrs. Jones was a 1938 graduate of Norway High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. She was the head librarian at Hudson Memorial Library for 17 years until her retirement in 1987.

She leaves her loving children: Harris C. Jones, Ph.D. and his wife Jeannine of Stormville, NY, Linda M. LaBarre and her husband Raymond of Wilton, NH, Steven E. Jones of Derry, NH, Susan B. Weghorst and her husband George of Litchfield, NH, Cynthia C. McCurdy, MD and her husband Charles McCurdy, MD of Starke, FL, and Pamela K. Szrom and her husband James of East Greenwich. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial in Pine Cemetery of Canton, ME will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Saint Elizabeth Home Music Therapy Program, One Saint Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818 will be appreciated.
