Obituary: Allen B. Gammons, Sr., 77, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2016.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54+ years, Ruth (Blanchard) Gammons. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Peter Talbot Gammons and Helen (Pelley) Gammons.

Mr. Gammons was an Amica retiree and member of the United Methodist Church of East Greenwich and the Quonset Davisville Naval Yacht Club. He spent his retired years golfing, enjoying his boat and fishing with family and friends.

He was the adoring father to Susan Gammons Lamendola and husband Christopher, Allen B. Gammons, Jr. and wife Ann, Roberta Gammons Dowding and husband Alan. Doting grandfather to Christopher, Kathryn and Jonathan Lamendola, Connor, Tyler, Rachel and Caraline Gammons, and Elizabeth, Emily and Ethan Dowding. Predeceased by Joshua and Nicholas Lamendola.

He was the brother to Peter Gammons (Linda), Sally Wheeler (Donald), Robert Gammons (Meredith), and Nancy Hadfield (Robert) and brother in law to Leslie Longley and the late Paul Longley.

He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and a bevy of cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 18th at 10:30AM at the East Greenwich United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich. Donations in his memory may be made to the East Greenwich United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or the United Leukodystrophy Foundation.
