Eileen (Maloney) Chickinski, in her 99th year, peacefully entered into eternal rest with our Lord on January 29, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Chickinski of Worcester, MA and mother to the late Robert “Bobby” Anthony Chickinski and the late Elaine Sylvia Chickinski. Eileen was the daughter of the late William J. Maloney and the late Susan Mary (McMahon) Maloney.
Originally from Worcester, MA Eileen lived in Auburn, MA for many years before moving to East Greenwich, RI in the mid 90’s. Eileen was dedicated to helping individuals with disability. For over 20 years she volunteered on a daily basis at the St. Camillus Hospital, Whitinsville, MA providing assistance to her daughter Elaine and persons, young and old, at nursing homes in the Auburn, MA area. She loved motorcycles. She and her late husband used to ride their “Indian” motorcycle throughout New England and Canada during the summer months. On a regular basis Eileen and Tony would join their best friends on their private plane flying to and fro.

The family always enjoyed listening to their amazing stories. Eileen was most proud of her true US Navy heritage.
She was the sister of the late James E. “Eddy” Maloney (USN, retired); Joseph Bernard “Bernie” Maloney (USN, retired), William Robert Maloney (USN, lost at sea in the north Atlantic in 1944), and her nephew William A. Maloney (Captain, USN retired).

She is survived by her sister Catherine Drakos; nephew William and his wife Lorraine Maloney; niece Darlene Maloney and her husband Dennis Langlois; nephew Thomas Drakos and his wife Lisa; niece Jean (Drakos) Theodoropoulos, great aunt to Christopher, Kathryn, Brandon, Lindsey and Denise. Great great aunt to Calvin and Anya, children of Denise and Dave.
Her funeral will be held Friday, February 5th at 9:00AM from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich, RI. Burial will be at 1:00PM at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn, MA. Calling hours: Thursday, February 4th 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chapel at Scalabrini Villa, 860 North Quidnessett Rd., North Kingstown, RI 028562.
