Obituary: Howard G. Goebel, 68, Vietnam Veteran

Howard G. Goebel, 68, of East Greenwich, passed away December 31, 2015. He was the husband of Alberta R. (Cilli) Goebel. Born in Oil City, PA, he was the son of the late Guenther and Mary Olive (Dinger) Goebel.

Employed as a Civil Engineer for more than 30 years, Mr. Goebel had worked at Providence Steel and Sakonnet Steel. He was a graduate of Roger Williams University, was an avid golfer and gardener and a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Navy Seabees.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Erin E. Goebel Cahill and her husband Jerry; a sister, Nancy Ditmore and her husband Paul; sister in laws, BetteAnn Martin and her husband Norman and Cindy Tetreault and her husband Dennis and nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 7th at 11:00AM at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Wednesday, January 6th 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
