Obituary: Jean L. Arruda, 58, Security Office, Loved Dogs and Disney

Jean L. (Purvis) Arruda, 58, of East Greenwich and formerly of West Warwick passed away June 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in North Kingstown, she was a daughter of Lenora (Colletti) Purvis and the late Kenneth Purvis. Mrs. Arruda was a Security Officer for the TSA at Green Airport in Warwick for 13 years. She was a University of Rhode Island graduate, loved Disney and was an avid dog lover.

Besides her mother she is survived by her children Louis Michael Arruda and Nicole A. Arruda; twin sister Jane L. Burley and brothers Thomas K. Purvis and David K. Purvis. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Erinakes.She cherished all her dogs, especially Chianti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 24th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours: Thursday, June 23rd 5-8pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
