John Tortolano, 83, a lifelong resident of East Greenwich passed away September 8, 2016.

John Tortolano, 83, a lifelong resident of East Greenwich passed away September 8, 2016. He was the husband of Carolyn L. (Beahm) Tortolano.

Born in East Greenwich he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Nappa) Forcelli and the late Biagio Tortolano. He was a computer programmer at Quonset Point and the Natick Army Defense Lab.

He was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran, a volunteer fireman for the former East Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department, Station #1 and a life member of the East Greenwich Fireman’s Association.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children; John “Jack” Tortolano, SueAnn Tortolano and Becky Narkievich (Glenn), four grandsons and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of Grace Gray, Margarite Mercurio, Jean Stover, Theresa Casey, Anthony and Joseph Forcelli. He was the brother of the late Louis Tortolanni and Richard Tortolano.

Funeral service Thursday September 15th at 10:00 am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Wednesday September 14th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the East Greenwich Veterans Fireman’s Association, 80 Queen St., East Greenwich, RI 02818.
