Police Log: A Fugitive From Justice & 200 Oxy Pills
Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 9
10:06 a.m. – The owner of Ocean State Health & Fitness on Post Road told police the locks on four lockers at the facility were cut and left in place, with nothing taken from inside the lockers. He thought it might have been the work of a customer who recently terminated his membership, but had no video from the days when the vandalism would have taken place (Aug. 30-Sept. 2).
12:56 p.m. – A North Kingstown woman, 44, was arrested because her license was expired after she was rear-ended in a car accident on Post Road. When police asked for her license for the accident report, they learned of the expired license. They issued her a court summons and she was released at the scene with directions to report to the EGPD before the court date for processing.

Wednesday, Sept. 11
4:27 p.m. – Police arrested Andres A. Feliz, 39, of Broad Street in Providence, on an extradition warrant issued by New Orleans after he was pulled over by police on Route 4 northbound because his car had illegal dark tinted windows. Routine checks turned up the extradition warrant as a fugitive from justice. A Louisiana state trooper told EG police Feliz had allegedly charged more than $20,000 on credit cards with his name on them but someone else’s information in the magnetic strip. He was processed at EGPD then taken to the ACI.

6:23 p.m. – Police arrested an East Greenwich man on a bench warrant for failing to appear after he was pulled over on Main Street because he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. Routine checks turned up the license violation. He was taken into custody and held overnight, pending arraignment in District Court Thursday morning.
Thursday, Sept. 12
9 a.m. – A Marlborough Street resident told police she’d found a plastic baggie with 200 small yellow pills inside. She said she found them sitting where a stone had been on the wall at the end of her driveway (which is on Queen Street). She said she found them when she went to replace the stone. Police checked the pills and found they were oxycodone and made for sales in Mexico. The street price for oxycodone pills ranges from $20 to $50 according to the report.
9:50 a.m. – A Coventry man told police he found two of his van tires slashed while the van was parked at the American Legion hall on Main Street on Sept. 11.
11:07 a.m. – Police killed what appeared to be a rabid raccoon after an employee of New England Car Wash on Post Road said the animal was going under customers’ cars and scaring them. Police found the raccoon in the back of the property, near a wooden shed. The animal advanced on the police, hissing. Police shot the raccoon, killing it.
5:33 p.m. – A Cranston man told police his boat, docked at Finn’s Harbourside, had been broken into sometime between Sept. 5 and Sept. 6, while he was sleeping on it, and took four gold rings. He woke up to find one hatch open and another’s latch undone.
7:09 p.m. – Police arrested an East Providence man on four bench warrants after he was seen walking in and out of Norman’s Tap on Main Street carrying what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage.
