RI State Police Seize $80k Worth Of Cocaine During Traffic Stop

EAST GREENWICH, RI — Rhode Island State Police troopers seized more than $80,000 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on Thursday. The driver, Victor Jose Felix, 40, of Haines City, Florida, was arrested and charged with the manufacture and delivery of more than one kilogram of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Police pulled Felix over for speeding on Interstate 95 near Exit 7 just before 12 p.m. After searching through his Jeep, troopers found two vacuum-sealed bags full of cocaine, worth around $80,000.

Colonel James M. Manni, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, announces that Troopers seized more than $80,000 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in East Greenwich at approximately 11:50 p.m. Thursday.

Felix was arrested and taken to state police barracks in Hope Valley, where he was processed. On Friday, he was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston at his arraignment in Third Division District Court on Friday.
