Roof Fire Damages Commercial Building In East Greenwich
The businesses in the building, including an automotive shop, fitness studio, and restaurant, were evacuated.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — East Greenwich firefighters responded to a roof fire at 5601 Post Road late Monday morning, said the firefighters' union in a Twitter post.
The fire department responded at approximately 11:42 a.m. and reported smoke coming up from the roof. The businesses in the building, including L&S Automotive, Burn Barre & Fitness Studio, and Ronzio Pizza & Subs, were evacuated as a result of the fire.
“It was contained quickly but it probably burned for a while undetected so there’s damage to the structure,” Fire Chief Bernie Patenaude told East Greenwich News. “The businesses will be closed for a while until they can get the electric checked.”
