Shopping Black Friday: A Cheat Sheet

Let us help you plan your day-after-Thanksgiving shopping strategy.

If you live in East Greenwich, you're fresh out of luck when it comes to big-box options. Of course, you don't have to drive far to find plenty. Here’s what a few nearby stores have planned for Black Friday – which in Rhode Island actually starts on Friday.

Wal-Mart, 1031 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown (401) 294-0025

Kohl’s, 110 Gate Road, North Kingstown, (401) 295-7955

Kohl’s wil open at midnight, Friday, Nov. 29. In a change of pace, they will be selling T.V.s – 32 inch and 41 inch – on Black Friday. “We don’t usually carry TV’s in store,” said Deb Caramante, customer service area supervisor. Early-bird specials will run from midnight to 1 p.m. Caramante said during the course of the day, all of the store’s 119 employees will be working. Here are their Black Friday specials.

Home Depot, 1255 10 Rod Road, North Kingstown (401) 295-1184

The Home Depot will open at 5 a.m. on Friday. Items that will be selling for special prices are already set up in store aisles, covered up and waiting. Here’s a link to their website.

Chain stores Home GoodsT.J. Maxx and Marshalls (all owned by the same company) will be open at 7 a.m. on Friday but there will be no specials. “We do not reduce anything; we already are reduced,” said a Home Goods employee.
