State Health: Goddard Park Beach Closed Due to Bacteria

The beach is closed for swimming, the state health department said.

WARWICK, RI — Goddard Memorial State Park Beach should be closed for swimming, the state health department recommended on Tuesday. The reason is high bacteria counts.

The state will continue to monitor the water quality and reminds people the status can change every day.

"The most up-to-date beach information is available through a recorded message on RIDOH's beaches telephone line (401-222-2751), the health department said.
