"Taste of East Greenwich" Stroll Should be Your Dinner Tonight
The annual "Taste of East Greenwich" Stroll on Main Street is Thursday, Aug. 18 with samplings and special menu items from local spots.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—If you already have dinner plans Thursday night and it's not in East Greenwich, it's time to cancel that RSVP.
Instead, come down to Main Street for the annual "Taste of East Greenwich" stroll and sample what restaurateurs and merchants along the historic—and bustling—stretch of road.
Cars will be diverted and the street opened up to pedestrians who will be tempted to sample special tastings offered by many of the town's eateries. Inside, tables are waiting for diners with special deals and dishes to accompany the regular menus.

Bring your taste buds at around 5 p.m. and make sure your appetite is coming along for the ride. The tasting stations dotting the route will be complimentary, but light enough to leave you wanting more.
The East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce has promoted the event in an effort to bolster the town's reputation as a hotspot for good food. Newport and Providence tend to steal the thunder here in the Ocean State, but East Greenwich has steadily become an epicenter for good food.

The stroll is also a perfect opportunity for Rhode Islanders to quickly get a taste for scores of restaurants in East Greenwich at once, including familar spots and new arrivals.
