NO recycle pickup this week: Just trash and yard waste go to the curb this week. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, trash collection is delayed one day both Thursday and Friday.

Municipal Court: The court meets in Council Chambers at Town Hall at 9:30 a.m.

On Friday …

BND Coat Exchange: This year, the 17th Annual Buy Nothing Day Winter Coat Exchange comes to East Greenwich. The exchange takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Church. If you have a coat to give, please drop it off. If you need a coat, please pick one up. Leftover coats will be donated to the thrift shop at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and to homeless shelters through the Mobile Loaves and Fishes program at St. Luke’s. Volunteers are needed on the day of the event. To volunteer or for any questions, contact Jean Ann Guliano at 401-323-5196 or jaw408@aol.com.

On Saturday …

3rd Annual Turkey Trot: The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. with a 1-Mile Fun Run run. The main event, a 5K race, starts at 9. Registration at the Varnum Armory opens at 7 a.m. The course highlights the Hill & Harbour district. Come join this great community event, sponsored by the Main Street Association. There’s still time to register online. For more information, here’s the website.

Shop Local: Small Biz Saturday will be in full swing on Main Street, a trolley will be providing transportation from noon to 4 p.m. and shops showing off their holiday goods. Here’s info about Saturday, Santa’s arrival Dec. 5, and the four Sunday holiday strolls.
