Town Seeks New Finance Director

East Greenwich's finance director, Cathy Raposa, is leaving to take a similar position with the Town of Barrington, Town Manager Tom Coyle announced Tuesday.

Raposa, who has been EG's finance director for five and a half years, lives in Warren, which borders Barrington.

Her departure (in early January) marks another shift in a six-month period for the town that's been full of change. In June, the independent East Greenwich Fire District became a town department. In July, long-time Town Manager Bill Sequino left for a new job.

In August, Fire Chief Peter Henrikson retired. In October, Police Chief Tom Coyle was named EG's new town manager. Both chief positions have yet to be filled.

"We thank her for her service to East Greenwich and in light of that, we're seeking a new finance director," said Town Council President Michael Isaacs Tuesday.
