Traffic Signal Issue Causes Backups At Rte. 2, Division Rd.
An issue with the left-turn arrow caused major delays at the already-busy intersection.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — An issue with the turn signal at the busy Route 2-Division Road intersection caused major delays on Tuesday morning when the left-turn arrows didn't turn green, leading to major backups along Route 2.
Both Warwick and East Greenwich police said the issue was reported to them, but they were unable to address it, since Route 2 is a state-owned road. No crashes were reported at the intersection on Tuesday morning, East Greenwich police said.
According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, a crew was sent to the intersection and was able to quickly fix the issue. The cause of the problem with the signal is not known.
