Warwick Man, 30, Killed In Route 4 Motorcycle Crash
The victim was identified by Rhode Island State Police as 30-year-old Derek LeBlanc from Warwick.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — A Warwick man was killed in a crash on Route 4 in East Greenwich late Friday afternoon. Rhode Island State Police identified the victim as 30-year-old Derek LeBlanc.
The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. when LeBlanc lost control of his motorcycle, crashing into the median of the southbound lane, just north of Route 2/South County Trail.
LeBlanc was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The East Greenwich firefighters' union said the to firefighters on duty had to abandon their trucks on the highway to assist in the rescue, taking the department out of commission for several hours.
"We had lost our third person on the truck in our contract negotiations," the tweet read. "We always maintained that one extra person per shift is a big deal."
