What's Open, Closed In Rhode Island On Christmas Day 2020

Most businesses close their doors for the holiday.

Friday is Christmas, which will look a lot different in Rhode Island this year than years past. Gov. Gina Raimondo asked all residents to avoid travel this year, and to only celebrate with members of their immediate household.

Here's a list of what's open and closed in Rhode Island this Christmas.

  • Retail stores: Most closed
  • Liquor stores: Closed
  • Grocery stores: most closed, some open
  • Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion
  • Restaurants, bars: Open at owner's discretion
  • Banks: Closed
  • Libraries: Closed
  • Stock market: Closed
  • Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed
  • Mail: Post offices closed
  • RIPTA: Sunday/Holiday schedule
  • Trash Collection: Most towns with pickup are delayed by one day. Check with your local public works if you're unsure.
