Exeter Man Dies In Connecticut Motorcycle Crash

EXETER, RI — An elderly man from Exeter died Thursday afternoon after crashing his motorcycle at Hopeville Pond State Park in Griswold, Connecticut.

Frank M. Herrera, 81, was declared dead at the scene after his motorcycle hit a fixed object within the park, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reported. Connecticut State Police said the crash occurred at 929 Hopeville Rd. at about 2:16 p.m.

The State Office of the Medical Examiner, DEEP, Environmental Conservation Police, and the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Services (CARS) unit responded to the scene.
