BankNewport Opens Johnston Branch On Hartford Avenue

BankNewport held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 4 to celebrate opening its 18th branch location in Johnston.

JOHNSTOWN, RI — There is a new addition to the Johnston business community this month after BankNewport officially opened its branch on Hartford Avenue. The bank held a ribbon cutting with Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena and BankNewport board and corporate members on Dec. 4.

"There's genuine excitement about our new branch in Johnston," said Sanda J. Pattie, BankNewport President and CEO. "It is an ideal location and will provide added convenience to area customers, residents, commuters, and businesses to access our full range of financial services, delivered by a local team that they know and trust."

Those attending the ceremony included Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Liz Catucci, BankNewport Corporator and President of Sasa Energy LLC Mohamad (Sam) Sasa, Board Chairman Peter Capodilupo, Executive Vice President Mary Leach and the Johnston branch staff.

The 1,100 square foot full-service branch in Johnston has an open lobby floor plan, with teller POD stations for customer seating during transactions. Secured cash recyclers have replaced traditional teller cash drawers. The branch has drive-up image-enabled Personal Teller Machine (PTM) providing extended hours for banker support, in addition to a walk-up ATM and a night depository.

BankNewport's Johnston branch is led by Vice President Ann Ullucci. As branch sales manager, she will be will be responsible for overall branch management, customer experience, business development and staff development, working with a team well-versed to assist customers with banking transactions, product sales and servicing. She joined BankNewport in 2018, and most recently served as branch sales manager of the Bank's Coventry office.

The Johnston location brings BankNewport's branch total to 18 statewide.
