Cranston Woman Ticketed Following Fatal Johnston Crash
Marie Rossi, 65, was cited for three traffic violations, Johnston police said.
JOHNSTON, RI — A Cranston woman was ticketed following a fatal crash in Johnston on Christmas Eve. Marie Rossi, 65, was cited for obedience to a stop sign, vehicle turning left or right and failure to yield to the right of way.
The crash happened at the intersection of Plainfield Pike and Peck Hill Road around 9:30 p.m. 57-year-old Lisa Marshall, a Johnston resident, was trapped inside her vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. She was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she died the following morning.
Johnston police issued the citations to Rossi following an on-scene investigation and a review of video surveillance. She will be summoned to the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal next month to answer to the charges, police said.
