Did You Buy A Powerball Ticket For Saturday's Drawing?

The jackpot's not a record, but $435 million equals the 8th biggest Powerball payout. No one has won in 4 months. Will you break the streak?

JOHNSTON, RI — With no winners in four months, the Powerball jackpot has passed the $400 million mark and stands at $435 million for Saturday night's drawing. That makes tonight's jackpot the eighth largest prize in Powerball history. It could go higher, depending on how many people wager before the deadline at 9:50 p.m. in Rhode Island.

The winning numbers are 20 26 32 38 58. The Powerball is 3.

Did you buy one? If so, we want to know if you have a system. Did you go for a Quick Pick ticket? Did you pick the numbers yourself? Did you use birthdays to come up with a combination? Did you buy one because a $1 million winning ticket was sold in Rhode Island on Wednesday?

And if you'e in the game, how many tickets did you buy? A lot of people figure you only need to be lucky once, and one ticket ought to suffice. With odds of 1 in 292,201,338, buying a dozen or a hundred wouldn't seem to matter. Ditto for the friendly advice from the Multi-State Lottery Association, which operates the Powerball game. It claims if you let the computer pick your numbers, you stand a better chance. About 75 percent of winning tickets are selected when the numbers are chosen by a computer.

The cash payout on Saturday, June 10, will be an estimated $273.1 million. The Multi-State Lottery Association, which administers the game, says the prize will be just $300,000 less than a jackpot won in February by an Indiana player.
