The Happiest State In The Whole USA?

JOHNSTON, RI— Minnestota is the happiest state in America, according to a new study by personal finance experts WalletHub. Rhode Island came in 31st, winning the right to be called the most miserable state in New England. New Hampshire fared the best at 10th. Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts broke into the top 20. Maine followed at 25th, and finally, Rhode Island.

The only category Rhode Island aced was fewest work hours. But 31st was still way ahead of the unhappiest state, West Virginia.

Here is the list. The raw score follows the state's name, then the emotional & physical wellbeing rank; the work environment rank; and the community & environment rank. The study looked at adult depression, unemployment rates, income and volunteering rates, among other criteria, to calculate where the happiness abounds.
