Johnston Personal Trainer Working To Break Second World Record
Joe Reverdes is training to deadlift over 1,047, 337 pounds in a 24-hour period.
JOHNSTON, RI — A Johnston personal trainer is training to achieve his second Guinness World Record title, reported WPRI.
Joe Reverdes, 53, who set the world record for the most squats in a 24-hour period last fall, is training to deadlift over 1,047,337 pounds in a 24-hour period.
Reverdes, who works at his daughter's gym, A & D Fitness, trains every single day, often carrying around a 200-pound tire to build muscle and strength. He also has the current record holder's photo hanging at his workplace for inspiration.

“I’ll die before I quit,” Reverdes told WPRI. “I’m not going to quit unless something major happens to my body, and it did happen last time, but I kept going. It’s a mental game. Mentally and physically, I’ll be ready for this.”
Reverdes will attempt to break the current deadlifting record on September 4.
