Latest RI Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms & Wind Possible This Afternoon & Evening

JOHNSTON, RI — The National Weather Service has issued a new hazardous weather outlook for Rhode Island. The Taunton, Mass., office at 11:55 Monday morning indicated severe weather could impact the state this afternoon and tonight. Thunderstorms are expected, and in isolated areas, they may produce damaging wind, the weather service said. But the risk in Rhode Island is marginal.

The weather alert was also issued for parts of Massachusetts, where the storms could be scattered, and the risk is a little higher.
