Mohegan Sun Sues Johnston-Based Insurer Over Coronavirus Losses
The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority filed the lawsuit on Friday.
JOHNSTON, RI — Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut is suing its Johnston-based insurance carrier, Factory Mutual Insurance Company, over losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, reported NBC 10 News.
The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority filed the lawsuit on Friday, echoing a lawsuit filed by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, over of Foxwoods Resort Casino, against the same insurance company in February.
In the Mashantucket case, Factory Mutual said in a court filing that the losses caused by viruses are excluded from the policy. The company is currently seeking to have that lawsuit dismissed at its August 2 hearing.
