RI Gas Prices Down Four Cents Last Week

The average is $2.36 per gallon for regular self-serve unleaded.

Gas prices continued to trickle down last week in Rhode Island, falling by four cents, according to AAA Northeast.

The state average price for gasoline is now $2.36 per gallon for regular self-serve unleaded.

Prices overall are down one cent from a month ago and six cents below the national average of $2.42.

The lowest price in the March 30 AAA survey was $2.17 per gallon and the high was $2.59, suggesting it pays to shop around.

The dip in gas prices is due in part to the near-completion as refineries are nearly complete transitioning to summer blend fuel production and an overall glut of oil and natural gas reserves across the globe.
