The advisories have been lifted in some locations but not in others, the state health department said Friday.

JOHNSTON, RI—The Slack Reservoir, in Smithfield and Johnston, is no longer infested with blue-green algae, the state health department and state Department of Environmental Management said Friday. Therefore, the health advisory is being lifted.
The state said some bodies of water in Rhode Island are still impacted by the toxic blooms. Advisories remain in effect for
- Blackamore Pond, Cranston
- Spectacle Pond, Cranston
- Almy Pond, Newport
- Roger Williams Park Ponds (other than Pleasure Lake), Providence
As the winter takes hold, the state said, the blue-green algae is expected to disappear. DEM will review the situation periodically.
