St. David's on-the-Hill to Host Prayer Vigil for World Peace on Aug. 14

Members of all faiths and beliefs are welcome to attend. This event is free, and open to all ages.

CRANSTON – St. David’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church, 200 Meshanticut Valley Parkway, will host a prayer vigil for world peace on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, at 5 p.m. with a Peace Flag Project workshop to follow.

All those seeking time to reflect, refresh, and renew in the face of recent events are invited to this vigil, with the goal of adding our voices to those of others around the world who stand up against hatred and violence.

The nondenominational service will include selected readings and music, consistent with the themes of harmony among all people; hopefulness for better days ahead; and belief in God’s power to heal our world through service to each other.

The vigil will be held outdoors on the St. David’s lawn. Attendees are asked to bring chairs and blankets.

Following the service, materials for the Peace Flag Project will be available. Inspired by Tibetan prayer flags, the Peace Flag Project offers individual panels for people to decorate and display together in a common space to inspire others with their message of peace.
