1 Dead Following Rollover Crash In Middletown
Police say 34-year-old Peter Connerton died from his injuries after the Jeep he was driving rolled over and landed on its roof.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — One person has died following a rollover crash in Middletown Monday morning, said the Middletown Police Department in a news release.
Middletown Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a crash near 792 Valley Road at approximately 8:10 a.m. and found a silver Jeep Cherokee upside down on the east side of the road, said police. A male passenger was outside of the vehicle and the driver was trapped inside.
Fire officials extricated the driver, 34-year-old Peter Connerton, who was taken to Newport Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man from Newport whose identity has not been released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
