Coronavirus: Middletown Extends State Of Emergency To April 22
The Middletown Town Council has extended the town's emergency declaration another 30 days to April 22.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — The Middletown Town Council has voted to extend the town's coronavirus pandemic emergency declaration for another 30 days through April 22.
There are 18 new cases of COVID-19 in Rhode Island as of Tuesday, Raimondo said, bringing the state's total to 124 cases. Many of these cases are considered "recovered," said Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of health at the Rhode Island Department of Health. To be considered recovered, a patient must have had symptoms for at least seven days and showed improvement over that time. The person must have three days without a fever, without using a fever reducer.

Gov. Gina Raimondo again said that she has no plans to issue a shelter-in-place order unless it is absolutely necessary, saying that she is trying to protect the state's economy as much as possible, but that it is up to every citizen to do their part to avoid it.
"I am not going there. I do not want to go there. My ability to hold the line on that ability relies on the people of Rhode Island," Raimondo said. "So far you are doing a good job. Hang in there so we can get to the other side of this."
