Coronavirus: Middletown Mobile Food Pantry

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Middletown, in coordination with the Martin Luther King Center, is working to distribute food at the Oxbow Farms apartment complex on March 31 from noon to 1 p.m. The MLK Center uses a mobile food pantry to distribute non-perishable items to anyone needing assistance with food necessities.

Participants are encouraged to call the Middletown Emergency Center at 401-842-6555 to sign up for this food distribution. Families can also utilize the Grab-and-Go program at the John F. Kennedy School at West Main Road in Middletown.

Meals will be available between 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. You will not be asked your name, address or any identification. Each child for whom a meal is intended must be present at pickup.

Children with allergies are asked to call Lisa and Sheila at Chartwells Food Service at 401-848-2906 the day before you plan to pick up a meal to ensure the food is allergy compliant.

Seniors who are unable to buy or prepare food for themselves are encouraged to call 401-842-6556 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to register for meal distribution.
