Coronavirus: Middletown To Resume Yard Waste Collecton Monday

Middletown will resume its weekly yard waste collection on May 11 that has been suspended due to the coronavirus health crisis.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Middletown will resume pickup of yard waste starting on Monday. The program, which was suspended during the start of the coronavirus health crisis, is scheduled to continue every other week as regularly scheduled through the summer.

Beginning May 11, the town's Pay As You Throw customers are asked to bring all bags, barrels and bundles of yard debris to the curb the day of the regular scheduled collection day. The town said Republic Services will remove all yard waste to the best of their ability, but some material may be left behind if a soggy bag breaks or wet leaves get stuck in the bottom of a container.

Middletown is offering a contactless program in which residents can purchase the yellow PAYT bags and have them delivered with no additional charge. Two sleeves of large trash bags may be purchased Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the Middletown Emergency Operations Center at 401-842-6555. Two sleeves of bags will be delivered to your home the following business day by a town employee.
