Fire Causes Significant Damage To Home In Middletown
The occupant of the home was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — A fire caused significant damage to a home in Middletown Monday afternoon, reported the Newport Daily News.
Middletown firefighters, with help from Newport, Portsmouth, and Jamestown Fire Departments, responded to the home at 15 King Road, which is located off West Main Rd. near Two Mile Corner, at approximately 2:15 p.m.
The single occupant of the home was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation, said Middletown Fire Chief Robert McCall. No other injuries were reported.

Fire officials say the blaze caused significant damage to the entire first floor and some of the second floor of the home. It is currently unknown whether the home can be repaired.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Middletown dispatched two engine vehicles, a ladder truck and a tanker. The department also received mutual aid from Newport, Portsmouth and Jamestown and station coverage from the Naval Station Newport Fire Department.
