Graceway Community Church In Middletown Launches Food Pantry

The food pantry is open every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Graceway Community Church in Middletown is providing food for those in need with its newly established food pantry.

The idea for the pantry was introduced by Graceway Community Church member Patti Gonsalves and was approved by Pastor Ed Pichette earlier this year.

The food pantry, located at 215 Forest Avenue, supports the communities of Middletown, Portsmouth, and Newport and shows hands-on efforts to assist those in need during a difficult time.

“COVID hit Aquidneck Island hard,” said Gonsalves in a statement. “For many, for the first time in their lives, they are struggling financially. One of those struggles often includes food insecurity. We can help with that.”

The Graceway Food Pantry is currently open every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and provides food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Parking is located at Graceway Church and nearby public transportation is available.
