MIDDLETOWN, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health has recommended closing a Middletown beach for swimming due to high bacteria levels.
According to health officials, Third Beach should not be open for recreational use until further notice.
The department will continue to monitor water quality in beaches throughout the state and recommendations may change as more information becomes available.
