Tropical Storm Isaias Closes Middletown Beaches
Sachuest Beach and Third Beach will be closed due to the storm all day Tuesday through noon on Wednesday.
MIDDLETOWN, RI —The threat of Tropical Storm Isaias has caused Middletown officials to close Sachuest Beach and Third Beach all of Tuesday through noon on Wednesday.
Isaias is barreling toward New England, with the system expected to hit Rhode Island Tuesday and bring the possibility of power outages and even a tornado.
The worst of Isaias is expected to hit western Massachusetts, but Rhode Island will likely see heavy rain and strong wind gusts. A tropical storm watch is in effect for all of Rhode Island. Isaias may not bring as much rain as initially expected, but the possibility of tornadoes has increased as the storm makes its way toward New England.
