Junior Island Patriots Compete At Cheerleading States

MIDDLETOWN, RI —The Junior Island Patriots Middle School cheer competition team performed at the 33rd annual Rhode Island Coaches Cheerleading Association State Championships. Emily Smith, of Middletown, won the Team Spirit Award for the Patriots.

The was the lone team representing the Aquidneck Island middle school and high school cheer program at the 2019-2020 Championships.

The Junior Patriots include participating students from all Aquidneck Island Middle Schools: Roxanne Anderson, Teagan Barry, Faith Bettencourt, Violet Cavalieri, Kimmie Cook, Brianna Farias-Rhea, Lily Gaiser Borges, Madison Jenkins, Ona Keefe, Madison Lavoie, Meadow Manchester, Zoe Mello, Olivia O'Conner, Jocelyn Sears, Emily Smith and Avery Warren. Coaches are Meghan Haggerty, Susan Bucholz, Kaitlan Mitchell and Admin Coach Allison Albro.
