Middletown DPW Can Help If Your Mailbox Get Plowed Down
Those living on town roads can contact the Middletown Department of Public Works if a town snow plow damages your mailbox.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — With up to four more inches of snow set to hit the area on Wednesday the plows will likely be out in Middletown. While contractors do their best to use caution, there are ways to get restitution in the case that one of the town's plows takes out your mailbox.
The Middletown Department of Public Works said the easiest way to receive assistance is to submit a "citizen request" to the town's website. Go here and select "help" in the right-hand corner of the town's home page, or look under "online services" for "citizen request." Enter your name, email address, and address in the comments area explaining what happened and when it happened.
You can also call the Department of Public Works at 401-846-2119.

Those with damaged mailboxes might want to contact the post office to have mail held there for pickup while the mailbox is being replaced. Middletown uses a standard post and mailbox to replace those damaged by our snowplows. DPW will replace the mailbox and post as soon as possible, but it may take a few weeks, weather permitting.
East Main Road, West Main Road, Aquidneck Avenue and Valley road are state roads. Anyone with issues on those roads should contact Rhode Island Department of Transportation claims at 401-734-4842.
