Middletown Man Charged With Making Bomb Threats At Stop & Shop
Middletown police charged Jacob Tomkus, 19, with making the threats to the Stop & Shop on West Road in November.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Middletown police have charged a teen resident with making bomb threats to the Stop & Shop on West Street in November. Police charged Jacob Tomkus, 19, after separate threats via phone call on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18.
The store had to be evacuated due to the threats on both days. Tomkus was arraigned in Newport District Court on Tuesday and given a $20,000 surety.
Tomkus was charged with with two counts of making bomb threats and similar false reports.
