Middletown Schools To Resume In-Person Classes
Students have been learning remotely since Dec. 21.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — Middletown Public Schools will resume in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 11 as scheduled, said the district in an announcement Thursday.
All grades switched to distance learning on Dec. 21 ahead of winter break due to the surge in COVID-19 cases experienced in Rhode Island at the end of 2020. Students had a total of eight distance learning days over the three-week period.
"We know that our behavior over the next few weeks will critically impact a successful and safe return to our classrooms in 2021," said Superintendent Rosemarie Kraeger in a letter to parents and guardians ahead of the break.
