Newport Resident Starts Campaign for Sick Dog

When Newport resident John Florez heard his friend's dog was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, he turned to the internet for help.

He created a page on gofundme.com for his friend, Milla Goldenberg, and her six-year-old dog Pinko. 

"Untreated, this disease would have caused Pinko's organs to begin to bleed," said Florez.  "These past couple of weeks have been a struggle for Milla and her beloved dog. While this page can't alleviate the pain and struggle both are enduring, hopefully it can ease it just a bit. We love you dearly Milla and we are all hoping for a positive outcome," he said.
