Peabody's Beach In Middletown To Close: State Health
The beach is closed for swimming due to high bacteria counts.

MIDDLETOWN, RI—High bacteria counts in the water samples have led state health officials to recommend Peabody's Beach be closed to swimming. The Middletown beach is the latest in a list of beaches and ponds that have been closed. Camp Watmough's Beach in Glocester, and Briar Point Beach in Coventry, for examp;e, are still closed for swimming. Some beaches have reopened, however.
