Potter League's Heart & Sole Walk Is Sunday

The Heart and Sole Walk for Animals is at Glen Park, Portsmouth on June 4. Registration begins at 9, and the walk starts at 11 a.m.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — The Potter League for Animals says it costs $25 to house a cat or dog for one night. Their annual summer fundraiser happens Sunday when the Heart and Sole Walk for Animals steps off at Glen Park, Portsmouth. Registration begins at 9, and the walk starts at 11 a.m. June 4.

The Heart and Sole Walk for Animals is the Potter League’s largest summer fundraiser, bringing together more than 450 people and 200 dogs to raise funds and awareness for homeless and neglected animals across Rhode Island and beyond. The goal is to raise $100,000 to care for more than 2,000 animals that will come to the Potter League for help this year.

"Animals in our community are counting on your help to find homes where they feel loved and valued," the organizers say. Plus, it's a fun day. Expect refreshments, music and demonstrations, pet contests, sponsor booths and exhibitors in the Flea-less Market. First timer or pro, don’t miss the fur-tastic obstacle course or the cat photography contest, face-painting and kid’s activities, the doggie day spa, raffles, awards and more! Hundreds of dogs in one place make for limitless fun.
