Rep. Ruggiero Hosting Series Of RI Education Forums
After 'a lively and organic' discussion on education in Middletown on Tuesday, Rep. Deborah Ruggiero will host one in Jamestown Jan. 6.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — State Rep. Deborah Ruggiero is planning a constituent conversation on education in Jamestown next month after she said a similar forum in Middletown on Tuesday resulted in a lively and organic conversation. All are welcome to the next forum, which will include Jamestown Superintendent Ken Duva and Education Commissioner Angelica Infante-Green.
Ruggiero, who represents Jamestown and Middletown, said the Middletown forum was helpful in sharing the state commission's vision on education, and discussing the importance of collaboration and parent involvement.
The Jamestown forum will be held at the Jamestown Philomenian Library on North Road at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6.

"The state and local communities need to embrace the power of education as economic development. Rhode Island has to set a course and stay the course when it comes to education," said Rep. Ruggiero. "We had a tremendously interesting and thoughtful discussion at the event in Middletown about how it's going locally and what the future of education in our state should look like. The commissioner has a very refreshing approach and a great sense of humor. I'm really looking forward to another engaging conversation about education here in Jamestown."
