Sorrow For Chariho, High School Sports World Over Death Of Girls' Soccer Captain
Player Maddie Potts died after collapsing on the field during a game against Middletown High.

MIDDLETOWN, RI—Maddie Potts, a senior at Chariho High School, collapsed Saturday during the game between the Middletown High Islanders and Chariho. Potts was on the field for a penalty kick when she went down. She was resuscitated on the field, according to the report in the Westerly Sun but was later pronounced dead at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
Her school is flying the flag at half staff in her memory.
The game was at Chariho.
