Teen Green Deadline Friday

Trail Docents & Hiking Program invites teens to master the trails at the Norman Bird Sanctuary.

Another round of the Teen Green program has begun! There are three different opportunities to get involved.

Teen Green Trail Docents

Applications due Thursday, July 30th!

Train with NBS Staff and other teens to lead guided naturalist hikes, earn up to $300 stipend (must participate in all required activities), become First Aid Certified, and earn a Free NBS T-shirt & Water Bottle!

All Trail Docents must commit to:

  • Attending all training meetings (Thursdays and Saturdays in August & September)
  • Leading 2 guided hikes on Saturdays in the Fall
  • Attending all Fall monthly meetings & hikes

Trail Docent Teen Leader

Applications due Thursday, July 30th!

  • Must have completed the Teen Green Trail Docent Program in 2014
  • Must attend and help lead all Trail Docent Trainings
  • Plan and lead Fall Guided Hikes and assist with service project.
  • Fill out an official Teen Leaders Trail Guide Application

Teen Green Hiking Program

The Norman Bird Sanctuary is excited to announce the next round of our Teen Green program for students in grades 6-12. This exciting program offers teens the opportunity to hike our trails for free, track their progress in a trail journal and turn the journal in for fun prizes. Check out the details below:

  • This program runs from July-December, 2015
  • All registrants will receive a FREE Family Membership
  • Complete 3 trail rubbings to automatically win: water bottle, compass, and backpack
  • Complete all 10 trail rubbings to be entered to win $250 CASH
  • Submit your photos on Instagram by using #TeenGreenNBS and you could win an iTunes gift card!
