Toy Drive Underway in Middletown
Middletown police are collecting presents for the needy.

MIDDLETOWN, RI — It's underway already. The Middletown police launched the annual Holiday Toy Drive last Tuesday. Santa's Helpers in the community have until Dec. 18 to bring s toy by the station on Valley Road.

The police aim to help the "less fortunate families from our Town have a happy and joyous holiday season," the spokesman said. They're teaming up with the Middletown School District, local housing organizations, and the state Children Youth & Families Department (DCYF) to locate eligible families.

If you would like to donate, there will be a drop box at the Middletown Police Department located at 123 Valley Road. There will also be drop boxes located at various school buildings throughout the district.
