We ask our Middletown Residents to get out and show their support and buy goods and services at their Local Businesses on Nov 30th.

The Town of Middletown has joined a movement to promote small businesses this month.

In a proclamation, passed unanimously by town council, Saturday, Nov. 30 has been declared Small Business Saturday in Middletown.

We don't want to take away from our great big business partners, but think its important to help  the small businesses in our community.   This Campaign inspires consumers to shop small and support local businesses, especially on in Saturday nov. 30th.   Some people put everything into their work, their name on the door and their heart into their community, small business Saturday is a day to show support , a day to shop at stores owned by our friends and our neighbors and to do our part for the businesses that do so much for us.   Our local small businesses do not have large advertising budgets and marketing dollars  , this is our way to help them.   When you shop small at independent, locally owned businesses , 52 % of what you spend stay right in your community supporting local organizations and  services.   Rhode Island Towns such as East Greenwich actively promotes small business Saturday and have seen great success with the program.   We have been going around town handing  posters out promoting the event , available  at town hall, you will see them now in many businesses,  and the local businesses have been very  excited about the program.   We ask our Middletown Residents  to get out and show their support and buy goods and services at their Local Businesses on Nov 30th.
