What's Open and Closed in Middletown on Memorial Day

Many Middletown businesses and government facilities will be closed today in celebration of Memorial Day. Below is a listing of what’s open and what’s closed today.

The U.S. Post Office - The post office will be closed all day today. There will be no mail delivery today.

Middletown Public Schools - Closed all day.

Middletown Town Hall - Closed all day.

Middletown Public Library - Closed all day.

Trash/Recycling: There will be NO delay for Middletown’s trash and recycling during next week’s collection. The state landfill is open on President’s Day and Middletown will be collecting trash and recycling as normal.

Grocery Stores

• Stop & Shop on West Main Road will be open and operate under regular hours.

Restaurants and Retail Stores

• Restaurants and stores will be open at their own discretion. Please call ahead.

Banks

• Citizens Bank will be closed.

• BankNewport will be closed.

• People's Credit Union will be closed.

• NewportFed will be closed. 

Transportation

• Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate under its regular schedule Monday. To view schedules, click here. 

Trash/Recycling: There will be no trash pickup today due to the holiday - all collections will be delayed by one day following the holiday
